Picking a course by time, budget, and the job you already named

What goes wrong when a course is bought from a landing page, and how Jobtiv Course Finder filters programmes by time, budget, and the occupation you pointed the path map at.

The landing page is not a fit test

A certificate that costs a month's rent can be sold in three screenshots and a countdown. The failure is buying the identity ("I am someone who upskills") instead of a programme that fits the hours you actually have and the occupation you are already mapping.

The other failure is collecting logos. A profile with six short courses and no hours left for the job you are doing is a profile that got worse. Course Finder is a filter, not a trophy cabinet.

Budget, hours, target — then a list, not an enrollment

You set a budget, a time commitment, and the kind of role you are aiming at. The finder returns programmes that match those filters. It does not enroll you. It does not take a card on behalf of a provider. It does not mark you as certified.

Used next to the path map, the only interesting result is a course that covers a phrase family you are actually missing. A course that repeats a skill already evidenced on the profile is a poor use of the same budget.

What Ravi Thornquist is filtering for

This is a fictional example CV, written to show the template. It is not a real person.

Ravi Thornquist, Mechanical Engineer, Derby. Fictional. Used here as Ravi.

Ravi Thornquist is a fictional mechanical engineer in Derby on a rail-component line: jigs, changeover, scrap. A course that helps is one that fits around a shop-floor rota and maps to a gap the path actually named — not a generic "leadership" video because a landing page was green.

We will not put a professional-body logo on this page as if they endorsed Jobtiv. If a provider is accredited, that is their claim, on their site, after you leave.

When the finder will not help

We are not the training provider. Completion, assessment, and refunds are the provider's. A listed course can close, change price, or be a bad fit we did not see. If you do not know the occupation yet, start with the path map or you will filter on a mood.

Questions

Does Jobtiv sell the course?
No. We list and filter. You buy from the provider, under their terms.
Are these official qualifications?
Only if the provider says so on their page. Jobtiv does not award qualifications and does not speak for an institute.
Why do I need a target role?
Without one, budget and hours still leave you a catalog. The path map is how a gap gets a name before you spend.
